Conlee Elementary School

Thank you to the team members and departments at Memorial Medical Center that donated much-needed items or monetarily for this year's Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation, Inc. Care Kits For Kids Personal Hygiene Drive. By providing items to take care of basic personal hygiene needs, we hope to see all students thrive, while building strong peer relationships and having an overall positive school experience.

On Nov. 9, the district will host “High Schools’ Got Talent,” as part of the ‘Kindness in the Community” initiative. The event is free and open to the public. Just remember to bring your own chair! The evening will include performances from each high school band beginning at 5:30p.m. at Plaza de Las Cruces located at 100 N Main St, Las Cruces, NM 88001. Students will be accepting monetary donations to support Karina Cano Perez, an Organ Mountain High School student who is in need of both a liver and kidney transplant. We have such an amazingly giving community! The LCPS Foundation, Inc. thanks everyone who donated items for the Care Kits for Kids today and a special thanks to our Board Members who generously dedicated their Saturday morning to make a difference for our area High School students. Huge appreciation also goes to Walmart of Las Cruces for hosting the LCPS Foundation, Inc. and making donations at each location!

Last night, LCPS families were invited to the Superintendent's meet and greet to discuss his 90-day plan, educational goals, and concerns. The meeting was held in Spanish, more than 35 parents attended. Thank you, Ruby Bada from La X 96.7 for being part of this wonderful event.

Dear parents and guardians, several schools at LCPS have gone into a shelter-in-place due to lightning detected within 10 miles of our schools. Upon the occurrence of lightning at dismissal time, students who drive may be released based on principal’s discretion. All bus riders and walkers will be sheltered until the area is deemed safe. If you are picking up your child while a school is sheltering in place due to weather, you may do so at your own risk. We apologize for the inconvenience. Little Steps Pediatrics Night Clinic Coming Soon!

Next month, Best Buy Drugs/ Rx Innovations will be providing free Flu and COVID immunizations for LCPS staff on November 1 and 2 from 11 am- 6pm. in the Operations Office at the LCPS Administration Building. The clinic will be open and free for community members on November 2 only, from 11 am- 6pm in the Operations Office at the LCPS Administration Building.

New Mexico State Football has extended an offer for staff and students K-8 to get in free at tomorrow night's game against Sam Houston State. Just bring a photo ID. Please call the ticket office for more information, 575-646-1420.

Attention Conlee Families! We will be selling Thanksgiving lunch tickets beginning today until the week of the Luncheon. The tickets will be $4 a person. Parents can purchase tickets in the office. Kids can also bring money and purchase them in the office and the cafeteria during lunch time.

The Book Fair this year will be the week of October 23rd - October 27th. Family Night will be October 26th during the Fall Festival Night. Parents can set up an eWallet for their student at the website link provided. The eWallet is a cashless way for students to shop. It was successful last year and easy for students. No money to keep track of is much easier for teachers as well. Below included is a link with information about the eWallet Dates and times: October 23rd – October 27th Book Fair ends October 27th at 2:00 Students will shop during their library lesson and checkout times Family Night October 26th 5:30pm-7:30pm Shop the Online Book Fair October 23rd-November 5th Fair will close October 27th at 2:00pm Students will be allowed to visit and shop at the book fair during their library class time and their library check out time. That way each class will have two opportunities to shop. These are the only times students will have to shop. The fair WILL NOT be open before school. Specials begin at 8:05 and the students need to have breakfast.
